LCD vs Plasma

I'm looking at possibly purchasing a 46" TV but can't decide to go for LCD or Plasma.

Does anyone know the pro's and cons of each or what to look for when buying either of those technologies?

I saw the Samsung LE46A656 in John Lewis the other day and was impressed with the picture quality. Do you think this is a good buy or can you recommend another 46" TV?
